RIZAL, Philippines — The damaged bus unit of the Panda Coach Tourist and Transport Inc. was removed yesterday from the scene of the crash that claimed 15 lives and left many others wounded in Sitio Bayukan, Barangay Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal on Monday morning.
Tanay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office OIC Engineer Carlos Inofre Junior said, there have been several accidents in the area before, hence its nickname, “magnetic hill”.
For this reason, road widening projects have been done in the area to make it safer for motorists.
“Road widening is one of the ways to create more space and make it more safe; also the use of signage. Our advice really is information campaign because Tanay is a tourist destination,” said Engr. Inofre.
The Meralco has restored power supply in Tanay, Rizal which had been affected after the bus crashed into and damaged a utility post.
